Hello Fuso Friends,

We are already traveling for some time in the Americas with our great Fuso, now being at home in Die Niederlande for 6 weeks and our Fuso is safely parked in Central Mexico. In August we will go further South and I did all the necessary service except for inspecting the brake drums and re-grease the wheel bearings.

I do have all the replacement parts for this, but not the right tools.

I do need 2 essential tools:

- MB999151 Lock Nut Adjust Tool (Sicherungsmutter-Einstellwerkzeug) for the front axle

- MC888793 Lock Nut Adjust Tool (Sicherungsmutter-Einstellwerkzeug) for the rear axle

Both tools cost around €600 from the official Fuso dealer, that's a lot of money for basically 2 quite simple tools. But I have no choice when going further South into Central and South America, there I have to do the service on the bearings and brake drums.

Can somebody help me with these 2 tools for a reasonable price or does somebody has those tools at home and is willing to make a detailed sketch. Then I can fabricate them myself. Attached the 2 pictures with the basic dimensions and numbers.

Would be really great if one of you could help me with this.

All the best

Branko

Hi Branko,

I found a helpfull Youtube, doing the inspection of the break drums. Bruce has also created the tools by himslelf.
Maybe the Video helps doing the job.

Hi Timo,

Thanks for the links, indeed very useful. In the meantime I found a German Fuso dealer that gave me the correct dimensions for both tools.

I made them myself, only have to do some welding. When finished I will make pictures with the dimensions, so everybody can make them self. It's very simple and total cost around €15

Cheers

Branko

Hello Friends,

I made the tools that are needed for removing and mounting back the brake drums and wheel bearings, front and rear axle.

- Lock Nut Adjust Tool rear axle, MC888793

- Lock Nut Adjust Tool front axle, MB999151

- Hub Puller front -and rear axle, MB999070

- Brake pad release tool

For these tools see the attached pictures with the needed sizes.

You will also need a "Oil Seal Puller", for example: KS TOOLS 550.1060 DICHTRING-DEMONTAGEWERKZEUG 300MM

Also a round wooden plate is handy to put into place the new oil seal in the rear bearing assembly. The Youtube videos above posted by Timo give already a very good impression how to do the job.

In total I spent around €25 to make all the tools, ofcourse you need to (let) do some welding.

Cheers

Branko
