dealers/garages somtimes uses 10W40 also. i took shell helix 0W30 it works out for me. As long its ACEA C2 an in that range would be ok... Cold viscosity 0---5 Warm ~30 When change oil do not forget to reset the OilMelting Counter ! The Motor ECU calculates "lifetime" of oil. And if you bring fresh one you should reset. No external Tools need, just a sequence of Brake, Acceleator pdeal and ignition with blinking control lamps => reset done. Not to be mixed up with the warning interval of the meter.... Daniel

Can you tell me your engine oil. the book recommends 5W30 and Mercedes gave me 10W40.
