Hi, if the yellow “OIL” warning appears in dashboard, it is very obvious that one of the “oil reminders” were set.
This is a warning for yourself which you can set (perhaps your service dealer set it for you 🙂 )
Before you start with cleaning this error you should manually read out the errorcodes from all you ECU’s (you can use your dashboard for this also – no OBD need) to make sure that nothinge serious is there what should be known before resetting….<<refer to user manual>>
To get rid of this you don’t need an OBD.
Simply set the oil warnings to “0” and have some ignition changes (longer than 30sec) then the orange lamp will disappear.
Please no not MIX UP with the “melting counter of engine Oil”, which can also be reseted with a little more complex strategy. Whenever you replace engine Oil (and Filters) you must tell this the engine ECU to reset the “melting point counter” of engine oil. This is to make the ECU a correct handling of extra fuel during DPF clean session.
So don’t panic the Orange Oil warning is anoying but not danger.
Hope this helps

Hello Daniel.
I can on the Fuso dashboard:
- Read faults in the engine management system (eg problem with the diesel pressure sensor)
- Clear the engine oil replacement indicator after having changed the engine myself.
I'm going to try.
Thanks again for this information

Michel,
correct, you can read with the Dashboard all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) and clear them if you want. Before clearing please note them down 🙂 – and also not down which ECU reports it ….
The interpretation of DTC’s might get a little tricky. Don’t panic there is a system with it.
SPN and FMI are a pair and always come together ! (SPN = Number and FMI = Fault Mode Identifier)
FMI can have values from 00 to 31. Usually the FMI is a help to find the root cause of SPN. DTC (in some documentation) differ a little from SPN, but this is going too deep !
If you need description for DTC’S just post them here I can try to analyse them
The Indicators you set yourself (accidently or not) of course as well.
Be patient- stay healthy and have fun
Daniel
